The new-age attempt w/ each other

Months ago I
walked into the kitchen
one evening &
began a conversation w/ my
mother
on general spirituality,

I sealed it off by saying,
“One cannot be true to their spirit 
or to others if they do not know
unconditional love & acceptance.”

She paused a moment
in what task she was completing
& I walked back to my room
w/ a full glass of water,
& the home has been better
ever since.

Previously
w/out such communication
there was less understanding
of each other & the paths
we have chosen for our
lives, & now___
more so we work
together
in unison w/ further
knowledge of our
belonging.
