Familial routine

late at night
unable to sleep
due
to hunger, but
not just___

also
the crave
for conversation,
another
warm body w/
interest
to delve in to
both minds___

past just persona
& inward
to the workings
not easily
revealed to
just anybody that
comes along___

now
the phone is
dead___
for the same
reason
as the hunger___

please don’t take
these words
as complaining,
I am just
explaining___
