Tear drop river

Unable
to maintain my
composure,
I got up
from the table
& my sister followed
me in to the bathroom
& talked me down,
later
she said she
had to
to keep herself laced,
& I think it’s selfish
that I can’t stop
crying,
when there are others
closer
to the situation daily
w/ straight faces
assisted by
decreased appetites,
w/ more pain
from direct
contact
to justify rivers
of tears
